Two people, including a woman, died after being electrocuted while charging a battery-run autorickshaw in Pabna’s Ishwardi upazila on Tuesday night.
The victims were Aynul Matabbar, 45, a three-wheeler driver from Hatatpara in Pakshi union, and Fatema Begum, 36, a resident of MS Colony in the same area.
The incident took place around 9pm in building No 9 of MS Colony, said Shakhiul Azam, an inspector at Pakshi police outpost.
Aynul was reportedly electrocuted while plugging his vehicle into a socket. Fatema, who rushed to assist him, was also electrocuted.
Both died at the scene, the inspector said.
