Two motorcyclists were killed and another injured after being hit by a bus in Kushtia.
The accident occurred around 8am on Saturday on the Kushtia-Jhenaidah highway in the Bottail area of Kushtia Sadar upazila.
The incident was confirmed by Sub-Inspector (SI) Joydeb of the Kushtia Highway police station.
The deceased have been identified as Nayon Islam, 25, and Roni Islam, 26, while the injured individual is Mizanur Rahman, 27.
All three were residents of Durbachara village under the Ujan Gram union in Sadar upazila.
They were employees of Qiam Metal Industries.
According to locals, SI Joydeb said that in the morning, Nayon, Roni, and Mizanur were heading to their workplace, Qiam Metal Industries, on a motorcycle from Durbachara village.
When they reached the Bottail area, a speeding bus named “Gorai”, coming from the opposite direction, ran them over, Joydeb said.
Nayon and Roni died on the spot. Mizanur was critically injured and was taken to Kushtia General Hospital for treatment, he added.
