The incident took place around 9am on Monday.

Police have detained nine individuals in connection with the incident.

According to police and local sources, after the Eid prayers, activists of Awami League, Jubo League, and Chhatra League began shouting “Joy Bangla” slogans at Ramkrishnapur Eidgah.

This led to a confrontation with BNP members and local people, resulting in a chase and clash. During the altercation, Sabbir, 24, a BNP activist, was injured and received initial treatment at the Upazila Health Complex.

Shortly afterward, Awami League activists fired shots at BNP activists, injuring Sujat, another BNP activist, who was later sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Rantu Islam, an eyewitness, said: "A group of youth raised the Joy Bangla slogan at the Eidgah field in Ramkrishnapur village. They later continued to shout it on the Lalpur-Bagha Road, leading to a clash between Awami League and BNP."

Natore Police Superintendent Mohammad Amjad Hossain said: "I have learned that two youth raised the Joy Bangla slogan at the Eidgah field.”

He added: “However, it is still being investigated whether the subsequent chase and clash were related to the mosque or if it evolved into a political dispute based on the village. The situation is under control, and everything is currently calm."

Nazmul Haque, the officer-in-charge of Lalpur Police Station, informed that police and joint forces arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control. Nine people have been arrested, and legal action will be taken against those involved.
