A vessel carrying 11,500 tons of boiled rice from India has arrived at Chittagong Port.
This delivery is part of a larger import deal under an open tender contract (Package-2), which includes the import of a total of 450,000 tons of rice from India, according to a press release issued on Monday.
So far, 285,769 tons of rice have already arrived in the country, the release said.
Sample testing of the rice on board has been completed, and the unloading process is set to begin shortly, it said.
Authorities have taken all necessary measures to ensure the swift and efficient unloading of the rice, the release added.
