The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested 10 individuals, including Arsa leader Ataullah Abu Ammar Jununi, in operations across Siddhirganj, Narayanganj and Mymensingh, with seven, including Ataullah, placed on a 10-day remand.
The arrests took place late on Monday night while the suspects were attending a secret meeting in Siddhirganj's Bhumi Palli residential area.
Six individuals were arrested in Siddhirganj and four others were detained in Mymensingh.
They were later transferred to Siddhirganj Police Station.
The arrested individuals include Ataullah, 48, the leader of Arsa from Myanmar's Arakan state, Mostak Ahmed, 66, Salimullah, 27, Moniruzzaman, 24, son of Atikul Islam from Mymensingh's Ishwarganj, Asmat Ullah, 40, Mohammad Hasan, 43, Asmaul Hossna, 23, wife of Salimullah, a 15-year-old boy from Arakan state, Shahina Akter, 22 and a 17-year-old girl.
Moniruzzaman had been residing in Siddhirganj’s Bhumi Palli area, while Salimullah, Shahina, and the 17-year-old girl lived in the Ukhiya Rohingya camp in Cox's Bazar.
Lieutenant Colonel AHM Sajjad Hossain, the commanding officer of RAB-11, confirmed the arrests.
He mentioned that Ataullah and six others were arrested for illegal entry into Bangladesh and involvement in terrorist activities.
They were presented before the Narayanganj District Court for interrogation.
The remaining three female members and one child were also arrested and sent to jail under the same charges.
On Tuesday afternoon, Ataullah and the other six were brought before the court, where they were remanded for 10 days.
Court Inspector Kaiyum Khan said that the judge granted a 10-day remand for all six individuals, five days for each case, after reviewing their requests for interrogation.
Ataullah Abu Ammar Jununi is reported to have ordered the killing of the prominent Rohingya leader Muhibullah, according to statements from arrested suspects involved in the murder case.
Ataullah is also implicated in the killing of DGFI officer Squadron Leader Rizwan Rushdi during a joint anti-drug operation in the Tumbru border area of Bandarban.
The police report confirms that Ataullah and six others were brought before the Narayanganj District Court to face charges related to illegal entry and terrorism, with additional arrests made for the same offenses.
