Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Monday foiled an alleged attempt by members of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) to build a barbed-wire fence near the zero point along the Dahgram border in Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat.

Subedar Lutfur Rahman, commanding officer of the Panbari Company of BGB 51 Battalion, said members of the Arun Camp of the 6th BSF Battalion of West Bengal attempted to construct a barbed-wire fence with iron rods near the Sardar Para area.

Upon receiving the information, BGB officials rushed to the spot and instructed the BSF members to stop construction.

Subsequently, the BSF personnel halted their work and left the area.

Subedar Lutfur added that while the BGB remains vigilant, tension continues to prevail in the area over the issue.
