The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has handed over the body of a Bangladeshi youth killed in an attack by Khasia people in India after illegally crossing the Kanaighat border early on Friday.
Shahed Ahmed, the son of Moshahid Ali from Mangalpur village in Kanaighat upazila, was confirmed as the victim by Kanaighat police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Abu Sayem on Sunday.
Following a flag meeting between the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and the BSF in the Barachhara area near the Bangladesh-India border, the BSF handed over Shahed's bullet-riddled body to the BGB, the OC said.
The body will be returned to the family following the legal procedures, he added.
