A total of 611 individuals have been arrested over the past 26 days as part of "Operation Devil Hunt" in Gazipur.
Of these, 474 were arrested by the city police, and 167 by the district police.
The operation, which began on February 8, continued until Tuesday, with the majority of those arrested being affiliated with the Awami League, according to the police.
Alamgir Hossain, the deputy police commissioner of Gazipur City Police, confirmed this on Wednesday.
District Police Superintendent Chowdhury Jaber Sadeq said that four individuals were arrested in various areas during a raid on Tuesday night.
To date, the district police have arrested 167 individuals in the "Operation Devil Hunt" all of whom are linked to Awami League politics.
On the night of February 7, a group of anti-discrimination students was attacked and beaten in the Dhirasram South Khan area of the city, at the residence of former minister AKM Mozammel Haque.
Twenty students were injured in the attack, one of whom, Abul Kashem, later died while undergoing treatment.
The following day, February 8, joint forces launched "Operation Devil Hunt" in Gazipur and across the country.
