Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin has assured that the supply of all commodities in the market ahead of the holy month of Ramadan will be ensured within a week.
“The supply of edible oil, dates, and chickpeas will normalize in the market within the next seven days,” he told journalists following a meeting with tannery owners at Hemayetpur on Friday.
The adviser visited the Central Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) of the BSCIC Industrial City at Harindhara in Hemayetpur, Savar.
He said that there is no possibility of a shortage of food items in the market during Ramadan, adding that the prices of all commodities, including dates, will decrease.
The adviser assured that there is an adequate stock of all commodities to meet the demand during Ramadan.
Therefore, no issues related to the supply of goods in the market are expected.
Additionally, he issued necessary directives to tannery owners to ensure environmental protection during the holy month of Ramadan.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Industries were present at the meeting.
