At least 12 people were injured in an accident involving three vehicles on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway near Nimtali Bus Station in Sirajdikhan upazila, Munshiganj, on Saturday.
Abdul Kader Zilani, officer-in-charge of Hasara Highway Police, said that a speeding Surovi Paribahan bus collided with a Green Dhaka Transport bus from behind, causing it to crash into a road safety patrol vehicle stationed ahead.
As a result, 12 passengers of the Surovi Paribahan bus were injured.
All three vehicles sustained damage, with the front of the Surovi Paribahan bus suffering the most severe impact, he added.
Fire service personnel later arrived at the scene and rescued the injured passengers.
Ten of the injured were transported to various hospitals for treatment.
Following the accident, traffic was diverted to the other lane.
Normal traffic flow resumed after the damaged vehicles were removed from the scene.
Police have seized all three vehicles.
