Missing Mohammadpur girl rescued in Naogaon

A missing 11-year-old schoolgirl from Mohammadpur, Dhaka, has been rescued in Naogaon by the Rapid Action Battalion.

Members of RAB-5’s Joypurhat camp, with police assistance, rescued the schoolgirl from a friend’s house in the Madhyapara area of Naogaon.

She was later taken to the Joypurhat RAB camp.

RAB said they will hold a press conference to provide further details. Naogaon Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nure Alam Siddiqui, confirmed the rescue.

Relatives of the girl reported that she had come to Dhaka with her father two months ago from Barisal for her mother’s cancer treatment.

On Sunday at around 6pm, she left her relative’s house in Mohammadpur with her cousin. She then went missing while crossing the road.

CCTV footage from the area showed the girl near Tokyo Square in Mohammadpur.

However, besides her cousin, another person was also present.

Regarding his missing daughter, the girl’s father said: “My daughter is a sixth-grade student at a school in Barisal. We have been staying at my sister’s house in Dhaka for the past two months for my wife’s cancer treatment. On Sunday evening, my daughter went missing.”
