A thick layer of dense fog has settled over Dinajpur, with dew falling like rain, meanwhile, Panchagarh has been experiencing a mild cold wave for the past four days.
Dinajpur recorded a minimum temperature of 12.2°C on Saturday, while Panchagarh registered 9.9°C.
For most of the day, the sun remains hidden, causing hardship for daily wage labourers of Dinajpur.
From early morning, dense fog covers the roads and pathways, significantly reducing visibility in Panchagarh.
Although the sun appears momentarily in the afternoon, it disappears before evening.
The drop in temperature has led to reduced public movement on the streets.
In rural areas, people are lighting fires with straw and dry leaves to keep warm.
Vehicles on highways and roads are operating with their headlights on due to poor visibility.
Tofazzal Hossain, acting officer at the Dinajpur Regional Meteorological Office, said: "At 6am on Saturday, Dinajpur recorded a temperature of 12.2°C, with humidity at 94% and wind speed at 2km/h."
Similarly, Jitendra Nath Roy, Acting Officer at the Tetulia Meteorological Office, said: "On Wednesday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 10°C. Since then, nighttime temperatures have consistently remained below 10°C. At 9am on Saturday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 9.9°C in Tetulia."
