Three teenage friends riding a motorcycle, on their way to enjoy date palm juice, have been killed in a road accident in Kashiani upazila, Gopalganj.
The incident occurred around 6am on Friday in front of a highway restaurant in the Hirannya Kandi area of the Maheshpur union on the Dhaka-Khulna highway.
The deceased were Dipu Das, 18, Vishal Nag, 19, and Hridoy Mridha, 18.
Bhanga highway police station Officer-in-Charge Md Rakibuzzaman said the victims were on their way to enjoy date palm juice in the town.
Police believe that due to heavy fog, an unidentified vehicle ran over them near the restaurant, he added.
“Locals informed us after spotting the victims and their motorcycle lying beside the road. Our team recovered the bodies and the damaged motorcycle.”
The police are working to identify the vehicle responsible and legal procedures are underway, the OC said.
