A scuffle broke out between two groups, the Jatiya Nagorik Committee and the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, in Pirojpur on Sunday afternoon at the Pirojpur Town Club field following the distribution of rival leaflets by the groups.
The situation was brought under control after police intervention.
During the conflict, members of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement announced a boycott of the Jatiya Nagorik Committee leaders in Pirojpur.
As part of a nationwide program initiated by the central leadership, both the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the Jatiya Nagorik Committee had decided to distribute leaflets and engage in public outreach for the “July Revolution Manifesto.”
Following this directive, members of both groups carried out their campaigns in Pirojpur.
In the afternoon, they distributed leaflets and gathered at the Town Club field for a discussion.
However, the meeting escalated into heated arguments, physical altercations, and chase-and-counter-chase situations between the two groups.
A similar incident occurred last year on September 16, during a coordination meeting of the central leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement at the Pirojpur District Shilpakala Academy auditorium.
The conflict arose over disagreements regarding the leadership of the district branch.
