2,000 blankets distributed in Sreemangal on behalf of Tarique Rahman

Distribution events occurred in multiple wards, presided over by senior BNP members, with participation from local BNP and affiliate leaders

In the municipal town of Sreemangal under the Moulvibazar district, 2,000 winter clothes (blankets) have been distributed among the underprivileged people affected by the cold weather.

The initiative was carried out on behalf of BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman by Mohsin Miah Modhu, a member of the convening committee of the Moulvibazar district BNP, and a former mayor of Sreemangal Municipality, who is also an aspirant for the BNP nomination in the Moulvibazar-4 (Sreemangal-Kamalganj) constituency.

On Friday, at 11am, the distribution took place at Kalibari in Ward 9 of Sreemangal Municipality. In the afternoon, at 5:00pm, blankets were distributed at the residence of Ataur Rahman Lal Haji on Ukilbari Road in Ward 8. Mohsin Miah Modhu attended as the chief guest and distributed the winter clothes to the cold-affected people. Earlier, on Monday, the blanket distribution program commenced in the Sreemangal municipal area.

During the distribution, he said: "We are distributing winter clothes on behalf of BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. To ensure that no one suffers from the cold, we have distributed winter clothes to the destitute within the municipality. After completing the distribution in the municipal area, we will deliver winter clothes to remote areas of the upazila for the cold-affected people. Our blanket distribution program will continue."

The program was presided over by veteran politician and former vice president of Moulvibazar district BNP, Ataur Rahman Lal (Haji), and moderated by former councilor Abdul Jabbar.

Former general secretary of Sreemangal Upazila BNP, Mohammad Yakub Ali, also addressed the gathering. Among those present were BNP leaders Atiqur Rahman Jorip, MA Kaiyum, Mobarak Hossain, and Jubo Dal leaders Morad Hossain Sumon, Titu Das, Mosharraf Hossain Raj, along with leaders of BNP and its affiliate organizations.
