Chuadanga and Gopalganj have been shivering as a cold spell coupled with wind is sweeping the two districts.
The met office recorded the country’s lowest temperature at 10.2 degrees Celsius in both Chuadanga and nearby Gopalganj on Thursday morning.
Vehicles moved with headlights on in the morning to avoid accidents due to poor visibility, taking time to reach their destination.
Low-income people and daily wage earners are the worst sufferers amid the biting cold as they have to go outside to earn a living.
Rakibul Hasan, senior observer at the Chuadanga weather observatory, said the humidity in the wind was 97% at 9am.
He said the cold may increase in the next few days.
