The Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of Rangunia (South) police station in Chittagong, Ahsan Habib Khan, has been transferred following allegations of making unprofessional remarks regarding Chhatra League during a BNP meeting.

On Tuesday morning, he was reassigned to the Dampara Police Lines.

This was confirmed by Mohammad Russel, additional district police superintendent (Media) of Chittagong.

He said that Ahsan Habib Khan was transferred to the police lines for administrative reasons.

Earlier, on Sunday evening, OIC Ahsan Habib Khan came under scrutiny for his comments during a meeting with local BNP, Jubo Dal, and Chhatra Dal leaders in Sarafbhata Union of Rangunia upazila.

The meeting was organized in a room at Sarafbhata High School by union BNP convener Jahangir Soudagar. A video of the OIC’s speech from the meeting spread on social media.

At the program, he urged people to give  the Chhatra League leaders and activists mass beating and hand over to police station.

In the 6-minute and 50-second video of the OC's speech, he is seen standing while delivering his remarks in uniform.

Local BNP, Jubo Dal, and Chhatra Dal leaders and activists are sitting beside and in front of him.

At various points during his speech, they can be seen applauding.

In his speech, the OIC said: "The mastermind behind the August 5th student uprising is our pride Tarique Rahman. Under his instructions, Dhaka has been divided into six sectors. The people from these six sectors are the ones who have liberated it again."
