Winter has arrived early in northern Bangladesh, with temperatures already dipping below 15°C in several districts and the mercury falling to 14°C in Panchagarh on Thursday.
The Tetulia weather office reported the temperature in Panchagarh at 6am, marking one of the season's lowest readings yet.
The chilling winds accompanying the temperature drop have heightened the sense of winter, as locals brace for colder days ahead.
According to residents, the district typically experiences a rise in cold weather from the Bangla month Agrahayan.
The harshest winter conditions are expected during the months of Poush and Magh, with nighttime temperatures plummeting further as the season progresses.
