2 Indian nationals among 7 held in Rangamati

The BGB also recovered Tk2.69 lakh and a mobile phone set from their possession

Seven people including two Indian nationals have been detained by the members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) from a speedboat in Barkal Launch ghat in Rangamati district.

Tipped off, a team of BGB-45 conducted a drive at a Rangamati-bound speedboat from Chhoto Harina area around 4:30pm on Friday and arrested them, said Director of Barkal BGB-45 Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Masud Al Ferdous.

The two Indian nationals were identified as Suresh Chyakma, 39, son of Anjan Kumar Chakma and Arongkhan Chakma, 30, son of Jalanta Kumar Chakma of India.

They entered Bangladesh through Thegamukh area without valid documents.

The BGB members also recovered Tk2.69 lakh and a mobile phone set from their possession.
