Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 21 bottles of Indian Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) and 19 blankets from an inter-city train at Mirpur in Kushtia on Sunday.
LSD belongs to a group of drugs known as psychedelics.
Lieutenant Colonel Md Mahbub Murshed Rahman, captain of BGB Battalion-47, confirmed the matter on Sunday, saying the 50ml bottles are worth Tk10.93 crore in total.
Based on an intelligence report, the force came to know that a large shipment of LSD was going to Dhaka from Benapole through the Benapole Express train, the official said.
A special team led by Kushtia Battalion Assistant Director Zakirul Islam was stationed at Poradah Junction Railway Station accordingly.
When the train reached the spot around 5:30pm, the BGB team stopped it and conducted a search operation. The drugs were recovered from one of the coaches.
