Two of the six people injured in a fire in Rupganj, Narayanganj have died while undergoing treatment at a Dhaka hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Sohel, 20, and Ismail, 11.
Ismail passed away at 5:45am and Sohel at 9:05am on Tuesday in the ICU of the Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute.
Confirming the news, Dr Tariqul Islam, a resident surgeon at the burn institute, said that Sohel had suffered burns covering 70% of his body, while Ismail had burns on 55%. He further noted that none of the other injured individuals are currently out of danger.
The incident occurred last Friday around 11pm, when accumulated gas ignited in a tin-roofed house in the village of Dorgaon, Rupganj, severely burning six members of the household. They were later admitted to the Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute for treatment.
The injured individuals have been identified as homeowner Mohammad Babul, 47, his wife, Seli, 36, Munni, 20, and Taslima, 9.
