An official of S Alam Group, has been detained by Akhaura Immigration Police while travelling to India via the Akhaura land port.
The arrestee is- Sujon Kanti Dey, 44, is the son of Sanjit Kanti Dey from the Malghar area of Anwara upazila in Chittagong district.
He was arrested from the land port area on Friday afternoon.
Khairul Alam, the Officer-in-Charge of Akhaura Immigration Police, said that Sujon Kanti Dey has been working as a Senior Delivery Officer at S Alam Cold Rolled Steels Limited for 23 years.
He faces charges of assisting in money laundering related to the owner of S Alam Group, as well as regular cases filed at Anwara police station.
He further said that Sujon was detained at the request of Anwara police station and has been handed over to Akhaura Police.
The police from Akhaura are expected to take him to Anwara police station.
