Bhola is experiencing adverse weather conditions due to the influence of Cyclone Dana.
Rain and strong winds have begun from Wednesday morning, and the Meghna and Tetulia rivers near Bhola have become rough.
The administration is already working to safely bring the fishing boats back from the river and sea areas.
An emergency meeting of the District Disaster Management Committee was held on Wednesday at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office to address the impact of the cyclone.
In the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Md Azad Jahan said that 869 shelters and 14 earthen mounds (Mati Killa) have already been prepared in the district to combat the effects of Cyclone Dana.
A total of 13,860 volunteers from the Cyclone Preparedness Program (CPP) are ready to respond.
Additionally, eight control rooms have been established, and medical teams have been formed.
The administration is also prepared to evacuate over a hundred thousand residents from vulnerable isolated char areas to safe shelters.
He further said that the relief fund of the Deputy Commissioner’s office has a stock of 584 metric tons of rice, 350 packets of dry food, and over Tk900,000 in cash.
The meeting also assured that all necessary support will be provided if needed to manage the disaster.
