One dies in clash centring donation of goat in Khulna

A clash over the sale of a goat donated to a mosque has resulted in the death of a man Gazi in Paikgachha of Khulna on Friday. 

The deceased was identified as Fazlur Ali, 55. 

Another individual, identified as Shahin, sustained injuries during the altercation.

Police have detained one person in connection with the incident.

According to Tushar Kanti Das, officer-in-charge (OC) of Paikgachha police station, the initial report regarding the deceased has been completed, and Fazlur's body has been sent to Khulna Medical College for an autopsy.

Reports indicate that the conflict erupted before the Jummah prayers at the Purbo Para Jame Mosque in Shyamnagar, Kapilmuni Union, when a dispute arose over the buying and selling of the donated goat.

During the scuffle, Fazlur Ali became critically ill and was swiftly transported by villagers to the Upazila Health Complex.

Unfortunately, he succumbed to his condition en route. Fazlur Ali Gazi was the son of the late Moslem Gazi from Shyamnagar.
