Tourists have been advised against visiting Sajek for the next three days following a decision made during a law and order meeting held by the Rangamati district administration on Tuesday.
Rangamati Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Motasim Billah confirmed the information, adding that the recommendation was made considering the overall situation in the hill areas.
Rahul Chakma John, organizing secretary of the Sajek Resort-Cottage Owners' Association, said: "Many tourists were stranded in Sajek until Tuesday morning due to the situation in Khagrachari. This caused both financial difficulties for tourists and losses for us. We appreciate the administration's decision given the circumstances."
The stranded tourists left Sajek for Khagrachari at 7am on Tuesday.
