The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized weapons, ammunition, drones, and signal jammers during an operation in Ruma upazila, Bandarban.
This was confirmed in a press release by Lt Col Hasibul Haque, commander of the Ruma Battalion (9 BGB), on Friday at 12:30pm.
Hasibul said a group of hill-based criminals had set up a camp in the dense forest near the remote border area of Dopanichhara in Ruma. Based on this information, a special anti-terror operation was conducted targeting the terrorist hideout in the thick woods near the remote Dopanichhara border region of Ruma, Bandarban.
During the operation, a hideout was located, and from there, BGB recovered two automatic carbine assault rifles, one semi-automatic assault rifle, three SBBL guns, 21 rounds of live ammunition, an advanced drone, a high-tech signal jammer, an audio-video recorder, a video camera, a sophisticated spy button camera, a Shobu device hidden video recorder, a binocular, two walkie-talkies, a laptop, two powerful lights, a solar system, a TV receiver, an umbrella, two Android mobile phones, two button phones, locally made sharp weapons, and various other items.
BGB also reported discovering observation posts, trenches, temporary armouries, resting areas, and a cookhouse, all of which were destroyed during the operation.
