Update : 10 Sep 2024, 12:40 PM

The OCs of four police stations in Cox's Bazar have been withdrawn for administrative reasons and attached to the district police lines.

Superintendent of Police Muhammad Rahmat Ullah signed separate orders for their withdrawal on Sunday.

The withdrawn officers-in-charge are Mohammad Rokibuzzaman from Cox's Bazar Sadar police station, Osman Goni from Teknaf police station, Shubho Ranjan Chakma from Eidgaon police station, and Abu Taher Dewan from Ramu police station.

The new Cox's Bazar SP said: “The withdrawn OCs have been attached to the police lines as part of a normal process. Further decisions regarding them will be made later.”

During the recent student protests, Cox's Bazar Sadar, Teknaf, and Ramu police stations were severely damaged.

For this reason, Cox's Bazar SP Md Mahfuzul Islam and Additional SP Md Rafiqul Islam were both transferred.

Later, Muhammad Rahmat Ullah was appointed as the new police superintendent.

On Sunday, he assumed his duties as SP. Following that, he held a meeting with the OCs of all police stations in Cox's Bazar throughout the day.

After the meeting, the OCs of the four police stations were withdrawn and attached to the police lines.
