A Jubo Dal leader from Sylhet lost his party position for falsely accusing an innocent person in a case he filed out of personal spite.

Shahajahan Siddiqui, the convener of the Jubo Dal's Gowainghat upazila unit in Sylhet, has been given seven days to explain why he should not be expelled from the party.

The district Jubo Dal president and general secretary issued the order on Thursday.

"Due to your direct involvement in a case involving an innocent person out of personal spite, which has damaged the party's reputation, you are hereby relieved of your position as convener of the Gowainghat upazila unit of Bangladesh Nationalist Jubo Dal and suspended from the organization," the order reads.

Confirming the matter, district Jubo Dal President Advocate Mominul Islam Momin said: “We will take action against anyone who defies decisions and attempts to tarnish the party's image. If any innocent person is subjected to any type of lawsuit or harassment, we urge them to inform us, and we will provide them with maximum support.”

Advocate Shahajahan Siddiqui denied the allegations against him, and said: "I am not a plaintiff, witness, or lawyer in any case. I have been treated unjustly."
