A fire that broke out at the Gazi tyre factory in Narayanganj late on Sunday has yet to be fully extinguished around 62 hours after it started.
Firefighters were continuing their efforts to fully douse the blaze at the building as of 11:10am on Wednesday.
Although the fire was brought under control by 7pm on Monday, the fire service has not been able to completely put it out due to the presence of chemicals and other flammable materials in the factory.
Talha Bin Jasim, an official from the fire service's media cell, told Dhaka Tribune that the fire was under control, but flames were still burning on the third and fourth floors.
"During our efforts to extinguish the fire on the ground, first, second and third floors, no bodies were found in the areas we could access," he said.
"The building is in a very hazardous condition. Due to safety concerns, we have not yet been able to fully commence the rescue operations."
Many are feared to be missing in the fire but no official confirmation was available when the report was being published.
