Two individuals have been detained in connection with the attack and vandalism of a business owned by Sanjay Saha, president of Boalmari upazila BNP and convenor of the upazila branch of the Jatiyatabadi Swachchasebak Dal, in Faridpur.
The detained individuals, Tutul and Dukhu, have been sent to court.
A case was filed at Boalmari police station on Thursday, naming BNP leader Md Azizul Sheikh, the former convenor of Boalmari upazila Jubo Dal, as the main accused, along with 8-10 unidentified persons.
CCTV footage captured two men on a bike attacking Sanjay Saha's business with makeshift weapons. At that time, two army patrol vehicles were passing by. The army personnel disarmed the attackers and detained them.
Boalmari police station Officer-in-Charge Md Shahidul Islam confirmed that a case has been filed in connection with the incident.
