JS Whip Iqbalur, Justice Enayetur's residences, police cars set on fire

The houses of Jatiya Sangsad Whip and Dinajpur Sadar-3 Constituency MP Iqbalur Rahim and Justice M Enayetur Rahim were vandalized and set on fire on Sunday.

In addition, two police pickup vans and several motorcycles were also set ablaze.

The police responded by firing rubber bullets and tear gas.

Clashes erupted in multiple areas, including Sadar Hospital, Jora Bridge, Fulbari Bus Stand, Lilly Mor, Bahadur Bazar, Station Road, Kachari Road, Modern Mor, Butibabur Mor, and Munshipara. Throughout the city, police and protestors engaged in clashes.

Hundreds of rounds of rubber bullets and tear gas shells were fired by the police. At least 50 people were injured in these incidents.

Around 10am, protesters gathered at Fulbari Bus Stand in Dinajpur. As they marched towards the houses of Whip Iqbalur Rahim MP and Justice Enayetur Rahim at Hospital Junction, clashes with the police began.

Dinajpur Superintendent of Police Shah Iftekhar Ahmed led the efforts to quell the protestors. During the prolonged clash, the protesters set fire to the homes of the whip and the judge.

Reports indicate that at least 10 people were shot during the retaliatory firing of rubber bullets and tear gas.

Intermittent police clashes and gunfights with protesters occurred throughout the city, with fires now burning in various parts.

Earlier, students had staged a peaceful rally and painted graffiti at the Polytechnic intersection in the city. The clashes erupted when the procession moved towards the city.
