Police on Thursday arrested another of the nine militants who escaped during the attack, vandalism, and arson at Narsingdi District Jail.
Narsingdi's Detective Branch of police apprehended him from the Barua area of Kapasia upazila in Gazipur on Thursday.
Narsingdi Superintendent of Police (SP) Mostafizur Rahman shared this information at a press conference at his office on Friday morning.
The arrested militant is Jewel Bhuiyan, 26. This brings the total number of recaptured militants to four.
Previously, the Counter-Terrorism Unit of the police arrested two female militants from Dhaka, and RAB arrested one from Narayanganj.
The SP said that out of the 85 firearms stolen from Narsingdi District Jail, 45 weapons, including 20 Chinese rifles, 15 other rifles, and 10 shotguns, along with 1,091 rounds of ammunition, have been recovered so far.
Additionally, the police have arrested 185 individuals in connection with 11 separate cases.
Moreover, with the assistance of the Bar Association and police, 481 escaped prisoners have surrendered to date.
