Police on Saturday arrested a physiotherapy doctor in a case filed for raping a teenage domestic help in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur and circulating the videos on social media.
The arrestee has been identified as Farhad Uzzaman, 38.
He was arrested from his chamber in Markaz Mosque Road (Kancha Bazar) area of Sreepur municipality.
The rape survivor’s mother filed a case against the doctor with Sreepur police station on Saturday, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) Akbar Ali Khan.
The OC added that the arrestee was produced before a Gazipur court on Sunday morning.

According to the case statement, the doctor repeatedly assaulted the girl, threatening to upload videos of the incidents online.
When the girl informed her mother, she took her away from the doctor’s house. However, the doctor continued to threaten them with the videos.
Later, a family member informed them about a video circulating on social media, prompting the survivor's mother to file a case.
