Joragate Bazar animal market gets 24 CCTV cameras

Traders can bring their animals to this market both by road and waterways

The authorities have installed 24 closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV) at the Joragate Bazar animal market to strengthen security ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

Mayor Talukder Abdul Khalek of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) inaugurated the temporary market on Monday. 

Terming the particular animal market a traditional one, the mayor thanked local representatives for assisting his office in operating the market.  

The mayor said that traders can bring their animals to this market both by road and waterways. 

He said that the traders would not be allowed anywhere other than in designated markets. 

He also mentioned various facilities installed at the market for the security of the traders and buyers, including fake note detectors, medical booths, and control rooms.

He also mentioned that no one will be allowed to collect an extra toll from the market. 

Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Mozammel Haque and KCC Chief Executive Officer (Additional Charge) Sanjida Begum also spoke on the occasion.
