After enduring unbearable heat, Barisal city experienced a ten-minute of rain on Monday afternoon, leading to waterlogging in various areas.

Before the rain, the city's residents were discomforted by the prolonged heat over the past few days. Now, residents in low-lying areas are suffering from waterlogging.

From Monday morning, extreme heat was felt, and as the day progressed, the intensity of the heat increased. However, relief came after 1pm when soothing rain began, bringing life back to normal. The temperature dropped, and a light breeze accompanied the rain. Many people were seen enjoying the comforting rain.

Although the ten-minute rain provided relief from the intense summer heat in Barisal city, it also caused waterlogging in several low-lying areas, including Rupatali Housing Estate.

Officials from the Barisal Meteorological Office said until noon on Monday, the highest temperature in Barisal was 35.01°. On Sunday, it was 36.05°.

The source further mentioned that there is a possibility of continuous drizzling for the next few days. However, the rain is not expected to last long.
