Three youths were killed, and two others sustained injuries when a motorbike collided head-on with a speeding truck in the Miraripur area on the Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj highway under Paba upazila of the district on Friday afternoon.
The deceased are Asif Iqbal, 19, Sweet, 31, and Tajul Islam, 25.
The injured are Zulhas Uddin, 32, and Rimon Hossain, 35.
Damkura police station Officer-in-Charge Ali Akbar said five youths on two motorbikes were heading towards Rajshahi.
A drum truck coming from the opposite direction dashed the motorbikes as it was trying to give side to an auto-rickshaw around 4.30pm, leaving two youths dead on the spot and later, another person died after being taken to the hospital.
The injured persons were admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH). Conditions of two of them were stated to be critical, the police officer added.
