One held over rape of Khulna woman gluing her eyes

One man was arrested over the rape of a woman at Rauli village in Khulna's Paikgachha upazila.

The arrestee, Samad, was held for questioning over suspicion of involvement in the case Tuesday night.

Paikgachha police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Obaidur Rahman said that a case was filed on the night of the incident. The case was filed by the victim's husband as the plaintiff.

The rape survivor shared her account, saying: "On the night of February 11, I fell asleep. After that, I don't know anything else. Now, I see my ears are empty. Someone took my earrings, but there was Tk6,000 in the bag, and that money is still there. There was nothing in my neck."

The survivor’s daughter mentioned that her mother has been talking since morning but cannot recall anything about the incident. Investigations into the case are ongoing.

A woman was raped by thieves at Rauli village in Khulna's Paikgachha upazila early Monday.

The rape survivor’s family said on Sunday night, some unidentified men entered the bedroom of the woman breaking the door of the stairs. Later, they tied the hands and feet of the housewife, glued her eyes and covered her mouth with tape before violating her.

The rapists also hit her, they said.
