President Mohammed Shahabuddin went for a three-day visit to Sajek in Rangamati’s Baghaichhari upazila on Saturday.
He reached Sajek by a helicopter at around 1:30pm.
Baghaichhari acting Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mahfuzur Rahman said: "President will enjoy a cultural program by the communities residing in the hills on Saturday evening. On Sunday, he will visit various tourist spots in Sajek. He will leave Sajek on Monday."
Sources have informed that all necessary preparations, including a foolproof security system, have been completed centring the president's visit to Sajek.
Due to the president's visit, senior officials from various administrations in the district are staying in Sajek. All resorts, cottages, hotels, and restaurants in the Sajek tourist centre are open during the president's visit.
Meanwhile, Sajek Resort Owners Association President Suparna Debbarman said: “Centered around the president's visit to Sajek, 72 out of 116 resorts have been allocated for various government officials, and the remaining 44 resorts can accommodate tourists.”
