Four people were killed as a BRTC bus hit their battery-run rickshaw van in Chirirbandar upazila of Dinajpur on Tuesday morning.
The deceased are Abdul Majeed, 50, a van driver, and Naju Islam, 40. Besides, two unidentified pedestrians were killed.
Chirirbandar police station Officer-in-charge (OC) Abul Hasanat said that the BRTC bus going towards Rangpur at Rani Bandar intersection of Dinajpur Rangpur Regional Road in Chirirbandar ran over four pedestrians, leaving them dead on the spot.
Seven people were injured. The injured have been admitted to Dinajpur M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital, Rangpur Medical College Hospital and Bandar Upazila Health Centre of Syedpur and Chiribandar.
The bodies of the deceased have been sent to Dinajpur M Abdur Rahim Medical College morgue.
Chirirbandar Police, Highway Police, and Fire Service Civil Defence are working at the spot.
