At least 18 houses were gutted, and five people, including three children, suffered burn injuries in a fire at Anwara upazila in Chittagong early Monday.
The injured are Helal, 35, Jamal,45, Niha,13, Hasan,10 and Tania,5.
The fire that broke out around 3am was brought under control with the help of the fire service and locals, said Union Parishad Member MD Ishaq.
Anwara Fire Station in-Charge Maung Suinyu Marma said: “The fire might have originated from an electric short circuit.”
All of the injured were admitted to the burn unit of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH)
