Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is diligently working towards achieving food self-sufficiency in the country.

Building on this initiative, the minister highlighted the potential of Bhola's natural resources for industrial development, revealing that Sheikh Hasina has instructed the development of Bhola and the southern region as an industrialization zone.

"Already, we have undertaken a mega project for a fertilizer factory in Bhola. Moreover, after Chittagong, the country's largest port, Bhola district is seen as a potential driving force for the progress of Bangladesh's economy. Many prominent companies in the country have already established their industries here, and many more will follow suit," he said while inaugurating the gas connection line at Bhola Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) industrial city on Friday.

The minister emphasized that the inauguration of the gas connection line fulfils the long-term desire of Bhola businessmen, creating new business opportunities in the region.

He expressed optimism about further extending Bhola BSCIC, pointing out that the cottage industry, developed by Bangabandhu in 1957, has now spread across the country under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.

Humayun urged Bhola BSCIC to allocate plots to women entrepreneurs, enabling their success in the cottage industry.

He praised Bhola as a promising district, transformed into a region with development potential through the dedicated efforts of his political mentor, Tofail Ahmed.

The minister commended the establishment of an international standard liberation war museum in the Banglabazar area, expressing his admiration for the district's progress.
