Cold wave: All schools in Pabna closed for 3rd consecutive day

  • 1,664 schools in Pabna to be closed 
  • Schools to remain closed if temperature falls below 10°C

The administration has issued directives to close all primary and secondary schools in Pabna on Wednesday for the third consecutive day

due to the extreme cold weather and the possibility of temperatures falling below 10°C.

As many as 1,664 schools in Pabna have been declared closed for the third consecutive day. These include 1,136 primary schools and 528 secondary schools.

Earlier, on Monday, in a separate press release, it was announced that all primary and secondary educational institutions in the Pabna district would remain closed on Tuesday. The day before that, schools were closed on Sunday for the same reason.

They said the schools will remain closed if the temperature falls below 10°C.

According to the Ishwardi Weather Office in Pabna, the lowest recorded temperature in Pabna's Ishwardi area on Tuesday was 8°C. The day before, on Monday, it was recorded at 9.2°C, and on Sunday, the lowest temperature recorded was 9.5°C.

The previous order to close primary schools in districts where the temperature drops below 10° will continue.
