Sylhet road accident: Committee formed to probe into death of 4 Chhatra League activists

The Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges has formed a five-member investigation committee to look into the death of four Chhatra League activists in Jaintapur road accident in Sylhet.

This investigation committee was formed on Saturday.

The members of the inquiry committee are Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Imrul Hasan, Assistant Director Riazul Islam of BRTA (Bangladesh Road Transport Authority), one from the district police, one from the civil surgeon office, and one from the fire service.

ADM Imrul Hasan confirmed the matter on Sunday.

“An order has been given to investigate the entire matter of the accident and submit a report within five working days. We started working immediately after receiving the order,” said the official.

Four activists of the Chhatra League died after a microbus carrying them plunged into a roadside ditch on the Sylhet-Tamabil road under Jaintapur upazila early Saturday.

The victims were Nihal Pal, 26, Zubayer Ahmed Sabbir, 26, Medehi Hasan Tamal, 25, and Sumon Ahmad, 25.
