The residents of the district have been facing bone-shivering cold in recent days which has significantly disrupted normal life.

The chilling weather also has increased the need for adequate measures to protect the most vulnerable segments of the population from the harsh weather.

Day labourers are the worst sufferers amid this adverse weather condition. They could not come out of their houses due to a lack of warm clothes.

During the day, vehicles are moving with headlights on.

Potatoes and seedbeds have turned yellow and are prone to spoilage due to fog. If the dense fog continues, there is a possibility of damage to agriculture, according to farmers.

Meanwhile, children and elderly people have been admitted to hospitals suffering from various diseases including pneumonia, diarrhoea, and breathing difficulties.

Asaduzzaman Asad, in charge of the Dinajpur Meteorological Office, said that this cold wave may last for another two days.
