Two institutions in Khulna — Chafura Clinic, and Mohammadnagar Hospital and Diagnostic Centre — have been fined for irregularities in medical management, running unauthorized labs, and operating in an unhygienic environment.
The mobile court, led by RAB, imposed a fine of Tk1.5 lakh.
RAB-6 Director Lt Col Mohammad Feroz Kabir confirmed the information, adding that on Wednesday, RAB-6 received information about Chafura Clinic and Mohammadnagar Hospital and Diagnostic Centre in Mohammadnagar area, under Harintana thana of Khulna, conducting medical management irregularities, running unlicensed labs, and operating in an unhygienic environment.
Based on the information, the team conducted mobile courts in the areas in collaboration with the assistant commissioner, Local Government Branch, deputy commissioner's office, Khulna.
At that time, the Consumer Rights Protection Act of 2009 penalized Md Ziaur Rahman, 33, owner of Chafura Clinic, and Nurunnahar, 41, owner of Mohammadnagar Hospital and Diagnosis Center for irregularities in medical management. Of the amount of Tk1.5 lakh in fines Tk50,000 was paid.
The fine amount that was paid by the individuals concerned was deposited in the public coffers.
Lt Col Mohammad Feroz Kabir mentioned that RAB is committed to working within the law to accelerate development progress and ensure the sustainable security of citizens.
