Mild cold wave sweeping over parts of Bangladesh

A mild cold wave is sweeping over the districts of Kishoreganj, Pabna, Dinajpur and Chuadanga, and it may continue, said a meteorological office forecast for the next 24 hours, which begins at 9am on Friday.

The weather may remain dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country, according to the forecast.

Moderate to thick fog may occur over the country during midnight to morning and it may continue till noon at places. Air navigation, inland river transport, and road communication may be disrupted temporarily due to fog.

The nighttime temperature may rise slightly, and the daytime temperature may fall slightly over the country. Cold-day conditions are likely to prevail in places across the country.

The country's highest temperature on Thursday was recorded at 27.3°C in Teknaf, while the lowest temperature on Friday was recorded at 9.6°C jointly in Nikli and Chuadanga.

The ridge of the sub-continental high extends up to West Bengal and the adjoining northwestern part of Bangladesh.

The seasonal low lies over South Bay, extending its trough to North Bay.

The sun sets at 5:30pm on Friday and rises at 6:43am on Saturday in the capital.
