A clash broke out on Sunday between police and the members of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in Chittagong.
The incident took place at the CNB intersection under Chandgoan police station in Chittagong as voting started across the country, Md Arif Hossain, assistant commissioner (Panchlaish Zone) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP), confirmed the development.
The altercation began as at least 20-25 BNP men tried to bring out a procession to enforce their 48-hour-long hartal in the port city.
When police tried to stop them, a chase and counter chase began in the area.
