A person accused in a theft case was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside Baniachong police station in Habiganj on Tuesday.
The deceased, Golam Rabbani, 26, was a resident of the Nandipara area of Baniachong upazila.
Officer-in-Charge Delwar Hossain said Rabbani was arrested on charges of stealing an autorickshaw on Tuesday afternoon.
He was found hanging from the ceiling fan inside a room beside the lock-up around 7:30pm, said the OC.
Later he was taken to Baniachong Upazila Health Complex where the duty doctor declared him dead after examination.
Police said his body was sent to Habiganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
