A minibus in Chittagong’s Chandanaish area was torched the day before the BNP-called hartal.
The incident occurred at the Fakirhat area in Chandanaish on the Chittagong-Cox's Bazar highway at around 2:30am on Tuesday, said Chandanaish police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Obaidul Islam.
He said that law enforcement and fire service personnel swiftly responded, managing to control the fire.
However, no one was harmed as the bus was unoccupied, though the seats suffered damage.
"Despite efforts, locals could not provide information on the arsonist. The police are actively working to identify and apprehend the perpetrators, preparing a case for the incident," the OC added.
