A group of miscreants launched a crude bomb attack targeting a police vehicle on the Rajshahi Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court premises around on Wednesday morning.
Rajpara police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Haque said: "The miscreants threw a Molotov cocktail targeting the police vehicle from outside the boundary wall of the Rajshahi court premises. The cocktail exploded beside the police vehicle. Although no police member was injured, a cleaner was slightly hurt. He was later taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) for treatment.”
The OC also said: “The attackers fled on a motorcycle after the cocktail attack. Therefore, no arrests could be made. It is presumed that this attack was conducted in support of the ongoing blockade. A case will be filed at the police station regarding this incident, and the miscreants will be brought under the law.”
Meanwhile, at 1:30pm on Wednesday, a cocktail attack was carried out on an autorickshaw in the Railgate area of Rajshahi city.
The autorickshaw driver was seriously injured in this attack, suffering severe wounds to his eyes and stomach. He was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
During this time, three youths named Shahadat, Titu, and Monirul Islam were arrested on the spot. Passersby caught them and turned them over to the police.
Boalia police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Suhrawardy Hossain said: "The three youths came on a motorcycle and threw a cocktail. The cocktail fell on a battery-operated autorickshaw, breaking its front glass and injuring the driver. Passersby caught the three. Efforts are ongoing to determine if they are workers of any political party. A case will be filed at the police station regarding this incident.”
